Privacy policy
We collect as little as the site can function on. This page describes what that is in concrete terms rather than generalities.
What we collect
If you create an account, we store your email address and any profile details you choose to add.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address and the date you subscribed.
If you contact us, we store your name, email address, and the message you send.
- Account: email address, and any name you supply.
- Newsletter: email address and subscription date.
- Contact form: name, email address, message, and the page you sent it from.
- Outbound clicks: which product link was followed, when, and from where on the site.
- Search terms: what was searched for and how many results it returned.
What we deliberately do not collect
We never see or store payment details. Checkout happens on the retailer’s site, not here, so your card information never reaches LOLBABY at all.
We do not store raw IP addresses. Where an IP is needed for abuse prevention or click attribution, it is passed through a salted one-way hash first and only the hash is kept.
We do not load third-party advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not sell or share personal data with data brokers.
Analytics
Analytics on LOLBABY are first-party: events are recorded in our own database rather than sent to an external analytics provider. We record page and product views, outbound affiliate clicks, and search terms so we can tell which guides are useful and which products people are looking for and not finding.
Affiliate partners
When you follow a “Buy now” link, you are redirected to a retailer. That redirect passes a tracking identifier so the retailer can attribute the visit to us and pay commission. It does not carry your name, your email address, or your account details.
Once you arrive on the retailer’s site you are subject to their privacy policy, which we do not control. If you are unsure what a particular retailer does with your data, read their policy before purchasing.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for functionality: keeping you signed in, remembering your theme preference, and recording your cookie consent choice. Non-essential cookies are not set unless you accept them.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account removes your profile, your saved items, and your newsletter subscription.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection regulator.
Retention
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Contact messages are kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Click and search records are kept in aggregate for reporting; they are not tied to a named individual.
